Safe in Sunny Goa

>> Wednesday, December 2, 2009

We are now at our final destination before heading home. It was a long 24 hours of transport. There were a few bumps in the road, but we managed to get here.

We ended up getting on a overnight train without a valid ticket....long story but the generosity and kindness of random Indians helped us get to Mumbai. Granted we had to sleep beside the toilets on the floor for half of the trip, but its better than getting stuck somewhere!

Once we got into Mumbai, where we were supposed to have a 1PM flight to Goa, we discovered that all DAY flights are cancelled on every Tuesday for runway repairs...but luckily our flight was rescheduled for 6 PM.

Sleeping next to toilets on a train in India is not better than getting stuck somewhere. It really is time to come home.
